Those of you have consistently read my blogs (and from early reaction,a lot of you do-thanks!!!) know that lately I have grown frustrated with the critic's uninspired reports and poor choice of places to review. Neither of those unfortunate trends ended with this blog. I mean, come on. A diner? You're reviewing a diner? How good could it have been? It's open 24/7. How is knowing about a random diner ever going to do me any good. I expect better than this. i don't bore my readers with every insignificant detail of my day. I expect better than this. you all deserve it. I'm serious about this. (Well, not really that serious, but it'd be nice to see a change)
I will say I enjoyed reading about this diner's wine selection. It was detailed, yet no weird or corny attempts at humor were thrown in. I'm gonna go ahead and assume either litman or Hillary wrote this part.
Appetizer notes: A good description, but draws on for too long. Could have been a lot shorter. also could have done without this line: The meat on the spare rib was a little tough and didn’t come off the bone easily, but I was confident that every little morsel of meat would be in my mouth by the end of the night". Between the fact that this kid has his own food blog,AND can't wait to customize his kitchen......i mean.....well, I won't even go there.
Chicken Francaise notes: "Nothing about this dish was spectacular" says the critic. Funny, I was thinking the same thing about this blog.
Steamed Filet of Salmon Notes: This is actually a well constructed paragraph. Not too little, not too much. No weird references. It's a shame it was wasted on a diner on 21st street.
I guess really that's my issue with this blog. In the eyes of many (not just me, but many who pointed this out to me) this blog serves little purpose. It just seems rushed, and forced. I guess those 2 things sort of mean or imply the same thing. This is very disappointing. I can't in good conscious recommend you read this review. I hope my sad tone gets across.
